Amerit is a veteran founded, veteran led staffing partner delivering workforce solutions across industries and government contracts. Through our BRAVE initiative, we connect veterans, military spouses, and service members with meaningful careers, helping businesses thrive and people reach their potential.

Driven by Purpose.

Amerit was founded in 2002 by Gary Herbold, a Purple Heart awarded Navy medical corpsman and Marine Corps veteran, to create opportunities for veterans, job seekers, and businesses seeking a people first approach. Built as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business, Amerit has always focused on removing barriers and unlocking potential. In 2018, leadership passed to CEO Ian Wagemann, an Army veteran whose experience in Afghanistan and Iraq strengthens Amerit’s mission. Today, Amerit continues to grow, deepen client partnerships, and expand veteran hiring initiatives, staying true to its purpose of empowering people and businesses alike.

President

For Ian Wagemann, leadership begins and ends with people. As President of Amerit Consulting, Ian leads with a clear purpose: to connect talent with opportunity and to create teams that thrive. Over the past seven years, he has become known for building strong, united teams and cultivating a culture of connection that delivers results.

Ian’s path to leadership has been anything but ordinary. As a U.S. Army Airborne Infantryman, he learned the value of trust, precision, and courage—jumping out of airplanes into high-stakes situations where teamwork meant everything. That spirit of discipline and adventure carried into his civilian life, where he became both a pilot and an avid aviation enthusiast. Today, those same qualities fuel his approach to business: focused, adventurous, and purpose-driven.

Whether guiding company strategy or flipping burgers at a backyard BBQ, Ian believes leadership is about connection and impact. At home, he cherishes time with family and friends, knowing that the strongest teams—at work and in life—are built through shared experiences.

For Lindsey Aherne, leadership is about growth and connection. As Director of Human Resources, Operations at Amerit Consulting, Inc., Lindsey is known for her ability to adapt, support others, and create opportunities for collaboration. She thrives on the teamwork that defines Amerit and values the chance to help colleagues & clients reach their goals.

Lindsey earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning with a specialization in Economics from San Diego State University. Quickly after graduating Lindsey began her career in staffing, building relationships and developing her leadership through every project.

One professional highlight that stands out is her success in partnering with internal team members to use technology in creative ways, driving better outcomes for both clients and candidates. She takes pride in finding new approaches that bring efficiency and impact to Amerit’s work.

Outside the office, Lindsey enjoys time with her family. Her weekends are centered around kids’ sports including Softball, Baseball, and Track & Field. She lives by the belief that gratitude is the foundation for success, a mindset that shapes both her career and her personal life.

Business Development Manager

Tyler Cook is a Business Development Manager at Amerit Consulting with more than a decade of experience in the staffing industry. He specializes in building strong client partnerships, expanding markets, and delivering solutions that create lasting value.

He leads strategic account management and oversees Amerit’s SLED proposal team, positioning the company as a trusted supplier with broad capabilities and a diverse business model. His expertise in staffing, compliance, and vendor engagement allows him to connect with a wide range of clients in a consultative, results-driven way.

Chris Hendrickson

CHRIS HENDRICKSON

Corporate Controller

Chris Hendrickson is the Corporate Controller at Amerit Consulting. He leads with precision and purpose, providing clear financial reporting, and practical guidance, with a collaborative, team first approach across the company.

A seasoned finance and accounting professional with experience in industry and public accounting, Chris has owned month end and annual closes, consolidated GAAP financials for boards and senior teams, and overseen the full accounting stack, from general ledger through payroll.  He also partners with executives on budgeting, forecasting, audits, and strategic analysis so choices are well grounded and timely.

He studied Accounting and Information Systems at Virginia Tech and minored in Global Business. Based on years of global work with teams in the United States, the Philippines, and India, he brings a balanced, international perspective. A Pittsburgh native, he enjoys family time and the occasional weekend round of golf.

Marketing Manager

Kristen Bissell is the Marketing Manager at Amerit Consulting, where she leads branding, content, and digital strategies that strengthen the company’s visibility and impact. With more than a decade of experience in marketing and communications, she specializes in creating campaigns that connect business goals with meaningful client engagement

At Amerit, Kristen manages social media, website content, blog development, press releases, and event coordination. She has refreshed brand messaging, designed promotional materials, and supported companywide initiatives that highlight Amerit’s expertise and culture. Her approach combines creativity with strategy, ensuring that marketing tells the company’s story while driving growth and recognition

Born and raised in San Diego, Kristen now enjoys life with her husband, their two daughters, and a playful Sheepadoodle who loves to make the family laugh. She values time with loved ones, the outdoors, and bringing warmth and authenticity into everything she does both personally and professionally.

Andy Thoren

Andy Thoren

Director of Information Technology

Andy Thoren is the Director of Information Technology at Amerit Consulting, where he has spent nearly a decade leading innovation, security, and efficiency. With more than 25 years in IT and over 20 years in leadership, he combines technical expertise with strong business insight and a hands-on approach that connects executives with frontline teams.

At Amerit, Andy focuses on three principles: delivering excellent customer service, strengthening security, and using technology to solve business challenges. His leadership has guided the move to a fully cloud-based environment, improving stability and agility while reducing costs. He also oversaw the creation of custom software that streamlined accounts receivable and payroll, cutting manual work by nearly half and increasing accuracy.

Andy is committed to building collaboration and growth within his team and is known for leading by example. He is as comfortable writing code as setting strategy and mentoring staff. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, spending time in nature, and making memories with his family. He lives by the motto treat others the way you want to be treated, bringing respect and integrity to everything he does.

Satwinder Singh is a Lead Technical Recruiter at Amerit Consulting, recognized for his composed leadership and unwavering focus on delivering results. In the high-pressure world of technical staffing, Sat excels through his exceptional organizational skills, consistent follow-through, and a deep-seated commitment to building trust with both candidates and colleagues. He fosters environments where reliability and excellence are the standard, not the exception.

His leadership philosophy is rooted in resilience and strategic perspective, qualities honed from his upbringing in the well-planned city of Chandigarh, India, and solidified through his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. This unique blend of discipline and strategic insight is directly reflected in his professional achievements, most notably his consistent record of exceeding sales targets and leading by example.

Beyond his professional drive, Sat believes in the importance of balance. He prioritizes family time, cherishing moments with his children, and ensures time to recharge. Guided by his personal motto, “Do your best, and let life take care of the rest.” Satwinder Singh brings a powerful combination of focus, integrity, and perspective to every endeavor.

As Director, Recruiting & Operations at Amerit Consulting, Karan Bandesha is known for inspiring his team, simplifying challenges with analogies, and creating solutions that drive client and candidate success.

Karan’s journey reflects both adaptability and drive. Having grown up in various parts of India, he developed a broad outlook and appreciation for diverse perspectives. He later earned his degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. This unique combination of skills informs his work in talent acquisition, where both precision and human connection matter most.

His career highlights include a six-month onsite assignment at an MSP client’s premises, where he strengthened relationships and demonstrated Amerit’s adaptability and commitment to excellence.

Outside of work, Karan enjoys motorcycling, home improvement projects, and cooking. He lives by the words “Cogito, ergo sum”, or “I think, therefore I am,” reflecting his belief in the power of thought, perspective and curiosity in leadership and life.

For Sajag Bhardwaj, leadership means staying calm under pressure and motivating others to perform at their best. As Recruiting Manager at Amerit Consulting, he is recognized for his steady approach, problem-solving skills, and ability to inspire confidence in his team and clients.

A native of Chandigarh, India, Sajag holds an MBA in Human Resources and an MTech in Materials Science and Engineering—an academic blend that gives him both strategic people skills and analytical thinking. This balance has shaped his career, helping him guide teams through challenges with patience and creativity.

Outside of work, he enjoys reading about technology and politics, along with binge-watching to unwind. His guiding phrase, “Be and Keep Happy,” reflects the positivity and encouragement he brings into both his professional and personal life.
